Outlook for So-Cons

My friend Paul Tuns has an interesting analysis of the recent political showdown in Ottawa and what it means for social conservatives.

Socons might have an easier time if they would just adopt some reasonable points of view, and give up enforcing their retarded morality on the rest of society. Just a start.

In other words, abandon principle, compromise on matters of truth, and waver in the defense of human rights.

It would certainly be a start - a start in sliding down to the depths of sin with the rest of society.

Anon 2:25: If you choose to see it that way, so be it. Stupid individual religious beliefs are fine for stupid individual application...YOU follow the rules, their YOUR stupid rules. The rest of us will strive to live in a secular society governed by secular laws...you know, the ones that don't enforce a particular religious point of view.

Yep it sucks for you, but here we are. I suggest some of that 'turn the other cheek' business.

If Canada is a "secular society" governed by "secular laws", we should probably remove the following from the Constitution (opening line)

"Whereas Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law:"

That doesn't sound very secular to me.
