Railroading Harper

While riding home on the Go Train last night and I saw something mighty peculiar.

Each Go Train car has one of those electronic advertising signs which usually urge you to buy tickets to some or other event.

But this time the sign had a definite political message.

It kept repeating the phrase: “Stephen Harper Eats Babies” over and over again throughout my entire ride home.

Now I wonder if somebody paid to put up this message or whether it was just the official viewpoint of Go Transit.

I sent them an email for clarification.

Can’t wait til I get my response.

That's awful!
I once complained about an ad on the TTC that glorified cruelty to animals. They sent me a wishy-washy letter and didn't remove the ad.

What's awful is that they didn't clarify that it's 'gay babies' that he eats.

And poor babies and babies in child care...

That is funny.

What is?

The pathetic and hilarious desparation of the left in Canada... you're losing.

That is so beautiful.

Now most Liberals and NDPers, etc., would acknowledge that this is stupid as [that which is brown, steams, and is aromatic: ] McDonald's coffee.

But for their idiots to shoot themselves in the foot and make their more sensible brethren laughing stocks is amusing.

A fine example of Hanlon's Razor.

Hey! He only does that before breakfast!!!

And, of course, he first drained the bodies of their blood and baked matzos with the red liquid, passing this unleavened bread to his Jewish friends so they could celebrate Passover properly, don't ya know.

Um.

Is it one of those programmable scrolling LED signs?

If so, it's probably just a joke by the programmer.

Another display from the tolerant left. :) Well done!

I paid for the sign.

Respectfully yours,

That's not so bad then!

Did you suckers see Stephen Colbert's speech to President Harper's mentor at the White House Correspondents Dinner?
Hilarious.

The right, as always, has only 'truthiness' on its side.

Oh and btw 36% of Canadians voted for Harper - that means a wide majority voted against him.

It seems rather counter-productive such statement seems a bit over the top. That being said I think anyone including the National Citizen's Coalition should be able to place advertisements in the GO Train. As a group that vigorously fought third party advertising on the grounds of free speech, it is a bit hypocritical to deny it to your opponents.

Interestingly enough, the apology letter does not say Exclusive Advertizing disagrees with the hack; only that it wasn't intentional and they're looking into it.

It doesn't matter whether they "disagree" with the hack, and I'm as strong as Stephen Harper as you will find.

Company is composed of many individuals, any of whom including the president have a right to not like Harper.

I'm not saying that's how they feel... they could be supporters... but the company probably chooses to be non-political and aren't going to take a position on it.

The company's response, if truthful, is appropriate. Where I'm confuses is was it an external hacker (have their IT security folks verified this) or by "hacker" are they referring to a wayward employee who "hacked" (i.e. sat at a computer and typed something) their system from the inside?

The statement doesn't address that.

So... what you're saying is, that someone illegally changed an LED sign that had ZERO password protection on it, and was essentially free to air to be programmed?

Hell, what someone should have done, was start posting different advertisements, and actually gotten some use out of it.

We all know that Stephen Harper eats babies.

Alternatively, they should have taken the time to upload more messages, such as "Stephen Harper is a wanker", or "Stephen Harper takes it from Bush up the bum... and likes it.", etc...

Doesn't Canada have an Official Secrets Act to prevent this sort of security breach?

Hahaha, so you're the tool that replied with, "I worked with Stephen Harper for five years and never once did he eat a baby." Nice one chief. Really did yourself good with that banger of a quote.

Harper must eat babies. Why else would he be against abortions and gay marriage. It is all about supply and demand.

That is perhaps the greatest thing I have ever seen. This is coming just about 4 months after I started grafitti-ing that exact same phrase about one of my friends all over my high school. I just wrote "Jesse Dunbar Eats Babies!!" everywhere until he got pissed, but now he thinks it's funny.

But this is like my little prank from like 4 months ago but magnified. Kudos.

Now I wonder whose Modest Proposal Stephen Harper is following. Could he think he's reducing child daycare costs by eating surplus children?

heh, this is awesome, it was in the paper about this that the Go Train Systems were hacked and that this was the display message, great to see soemone who actually saw it.

As a conservative, I am very proud of my country and of the work Harper is and will do to get Canada on the right track.

However, I have to say, that is pretty damn funny - even if it was from a bunch of intolerable lefties. :)
