Sadly (look at what happened to Manning) this is what it takes to show the country that being conservative is not being a facist, puppy kicking redneck who bathes in the blood of immigrants and chugs crude oil to prove their manhood.
Harper is an incrementalist.

The problem Canadian's have is it's been 40 yrats since Canada had a truly Conservative Gov't and in many cases that's a generation and a half of voters... Mulruin was a Red Tory in a blue jacket in tht he may have ran his first term as a PC but when the second term hit he decided to spend til the cows came home...for slaughter...

so to suggest Harper was trying to convince people he isn't a conservative is partly true....he is not a Mulrony Conservative....and certainly not a Joe "who"

Fiscal conservatism is dead in Canada and the freemarket is finished in the States. What's to become of us all?
