Tears and Politics

Were Hillary Clinton's tears genuine?

That's the burning question in America today, as pundits discuss, dissect and debate Clinton's recent emotional performance.

Personally, I think Clinton's emotions were sincere -- which will likely help her politically.

To paraphrase George Burns, the secret of politics is sincerity. If you can fake that, you've got it made.

I also think they were genuine. I also agree it will likely help her a little. I do however, think THAT is the biggest problem...what kind of people will put the world's largest military power in the hands of someone who gets teary-eyed and blubbery over such a minor subject as multi-tasking life and work?

While it may be nice to see the principal of your childs school show this kind of emotion about teaching your kids, I don't think that is the case here where, as wonder woman pointed out, people are looking for strength and leadership, it will probably just look soft.

As the saying goes, that might play in the sticks but........

I can believe she is tired and extremely frustrated that after all her work she might be beat by someone who is much younger and less experienced, but I don't believe for a minute this was genuine. You could hear her groping for words to say why she is still running and the words were extremely vague as are Barack's words about what change means. If she showed anger, then I would believe her emotions were genuine, but that is hidden behind closed doors.

I have never seen a more scripted, calculating person in my life. Her next move will be to complain that a woman is not allowed to show tears. I am a woman and I find her an awful role model.

As a Conservative I would prefer she win the nomination, since I think Barack has a better chance to win the presidency than she does.

I agree with Canada Goose. This person doesn;t have a genuine bone in her body. Watch the video. The whole thing is contrived.

Clinton's big mistake was picking a Queen Celine Dion song as her campaign theme.

BTW Tears in politics are suicidal!

Anyone remember Benazir Bhutto crying?

Clintons are going down! Real winds of change are stirring in the USA.

Don't cry for us, Hillary Clinton... the truth is we never liked you!

It looks like this just might have paid off as Hilary Clinton came from behind and won New Hampshire.
