When the Liberals ran the House of Commons they passed an election gag law to stifle the National Citizens Coalition.
Now the Liberals in the Senate think we should register as lobbyists.
It's nice to see our Senators can take time out from taxpayer-funded junkets to Dubai to deal with "pressing" issues like this, but why must Liberals always seek to regulate citizens?
As a friend of mine put it, this latest assault on the NCC is "outrageous yet mundane."

At the end of the day the senate cannot change the accountability act. Besides I think the issue here is whether the NCC is a lobby group or not. If it is purely an advocacy group with no direct contacts with government officials, then it should be left alone, but if they are involved in lobbying, they should be regulated.
