Vaccination blues

It seems the H1N1 mass vaccination effort has been marked by shortages, long line ups and incompetence.

In other words, it's your typical government program.

I'm sure Gerry Nicholls has all the answers.

Yes and my answers can be summed up thusly: less government.

That depends on what you are comparing to.

The US has vaccinated 11 million Americans (4%) over 3 weeks.

Canada has sent out 6 million doses of vaccine in 1 week (18%)

4 X the doses of vaccine in 1/3rd the time,
looks pretty damn good to me.

It seems Gerry has another blog post marked by shortages and incompetence.

This is rather offensive and over the top, Gerry. It would be nice if there was at least one thing that you could give government some credit.

This is a damned if you do and damned if you don't issue and when a 13 year olds fatality is given headline news during the kickoff, you have panic!
Maybe blame your media buddies a bit more over this one. They imo are the ones that have dropped the ball and have created the frenzy including giving idiots like Bob Rae and Dr Swann, another soapbox.

You never know maybe the Liberals could have vaccinated 30 million people in one week.

Shortages and waiting lists typical Cnukistani health system woes. Nothing new here.

The real story lies in the fact the maker of the vaccine refused to accept legal liability for damage or side effects so the government has underwritten the risk itself with taxpayer's money of course.

Big Pharma cops out on a mass vaccination program's liability and shifts the responsibility to its customer (the government) nawwww no story there.

... The pharmaceutical companies knew that once they debarked on influenza vaccination programs, it would cause the virus to mutate into more dangerous and destructive strains.
... They alone are responsible for what will be an uncontrollable global plague.
... However, they know that they have doctors, political parties, and media in their pocket.
