Carbon Copy Tax

The Afghan detainee issue will not hurt the Conservative government, the prorogation of Parliament will not hurt the Conservative government, the fallout from the Copenhagen Climate Change summit will not hurt the Conservative government, but a flip flop on carbon taxes -- that definitely would hurt the Conservative government.

Agreed. The current debt and deficit situation is legitimate justification for a full scale review of all programs, crown corps and laws on the book with the intent of sunsetting those that have outlived their usefulness. We don't need a carbon tax.

Gerry, you are an idiot and still so jealous of our PM Stephen Harper.

If the U.S. brings in a Cap and Tax Canada will have to do the same or face penalties.

Myself, I am not too worried that the Obama administration will pull off their Climate policy, especially as it comes to light that Obama was a director of the charitable society that created the privately owned Chicago Climate Exchange, with advice from non other than Al Gore and Beijing refugee Maurice Strong of Oil for Food Scandal fame, which occurred while he was No.2 at the UN.

Hurt? Death of the Conservatives is more like it.
What would be the difference between the Libs and Cons at that point?
Harper said at one point in his career that he would not make the mistakes of Trudeau or Mulroney, well we got the debt ala Trudeau, do we now get the betrayal ala Mulroney?
We ate the debt for the unity of the country, now it's time the other side to take a hit, Cut Cut Cut, there is plenty of fat, Start with civil service bonuses.

I forgot to mention in my previous post at 9:49 pm that Maurice Strong is also a director of the Chicago Climate Exchange, all you have to do is follow the money to find the crooks.

this is a rant ...a pure Rant.

Eventually I'll put it all together
into a proper critique, until then this will have to do.!

PM Harper flip-flopping on a Carbon tax, is pure Liberal speculation, or at best, wishfull thinking.
Gerry you do, or should know better!

    everyone says...

"If the U.S. brings in a Cap and Tax, Canada will have to do the same or face penalties"

Well, I beg to differ, if we should ever decide to flex our muscle(now is the time to do it)
    timing is everything!
it is the rest of the world who will face the penalties.

The next century will/can or should belong to Canada, if the socialists and seperatists would get out of the way.

    We have....
50% to 70% of the worlds fresh water.
    30% of all gold deposits.
    60% of all uranium deposits.
We feed the world with millions of "TONS" of wheat.
We have more oil and natural gas "reserves" than all the arab world combined.
    If needed...
"OTHERS" will defend our LIBERTY, NO-MATTER who opposes us.

NO-ONE, CAN THREATEN OUR POSITION, NOT EVEN THE AMERICANS.
WE HAVE "ALL" THE RESOURCES THE WORLD WILL NEED IN THE COMING CENTURIES.

OUR BIGGEST CHALLENGE WILL BE HOW TO DEFEND OUR RESOURCES,
AND WHO WE CHOOSE TO BE ALLIED WITH.

The socialists and seperatists would throw all of that away, in the name of ideology.

I for one, am proud to have a
    reformer as prime minister.

At this point in time and history, Stephen Harper is the best thing that could have happened to Canada.
    History WILL reflect that..!

    Amen.

  8. I aggree !!!

Some have defined PM Harper as pragmatic about climate change. I don't agree.

Being pragmatic means looking at both sides of an issue and so far Harper and Prentice are so terrified of the rabid environmentalist green-lobby that they cannot even mention the ClimateGate fraud.

Look ... if Harper was so pragmatic he would convene a committee to review both sides of the global warming theory ... so far all he has done is to blindly accept the global warming theory as gospel.

He and Prentice neatly "dodged a bullet" in Copenhagen because the Chinese told Obama to get lost : 1)They would not accept binding carbon emission limits and 2) China would need to indirectly fund Obama's fantasy as China holds the majority of the US debt , and has refused to buy more Obama "paper".

I have refused to donate any more to the CPC and the day that Harper introduces a Carbon Tax is the day he loses my vote.

Further vindication of my decision to not vote for the CPC.
