I would trust Harper far ahead of another Liberal government being able to build a better relationship with the U.S. AND stand up when necessary for Canada.

Yes the Liberals created a gorge between us and the United States and I wish it were even larger. Both countries would be much better off if we were further apart, much like a husband and a wife who are always fighting and disagreeing or best to get a divoce than stay together. We can have better relationships with the United States by distancing ourselves. Our values and their values are too far apart so when we get too close it only creates problems on both sides of the border. We rarely agree with China, but since we keep our distance, we are able to have good relations. We need to do the same with the United States.

Keep on spinning Miles. Keeps reminding us of why the Conservatives are the government and the Liberals....aren't.

Which is unfortunate since I worry Canada is moving away from its traditional middle power to a close alliance with the United States, which I and most Canadians oppose.

Oh, and I wonder where the Liberal leadership hopefuls stand on the U.S.A. How about we ask Iggy?

Obviously you've never read Ignatieff's writings. He supports promoting liberal values globally, not neo-conservatism nor does he support war for oil and enhancing corporate profits.Monkey Loves to Fighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05122291567543761919noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17859678.post-1149608858182608912006-06-06T11:47:00.000-04:002006-06-06T11:47:00.000-04:00Where'd you dig that up Miles? If we only stopped allying ourselves so closely with the United States who likes to bully Muslim countries, we wouldn't be a target. We need to distance ourselves from the United States, not get closer.Monkey Loves to Fighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05122291567543761919noreply@blogger.com
