Bad sign for freedom

Check out my column which appears in today's Sun media chain.

I make the case that government has no business being in the sign business.

Great article, Gerry!

Michael Ignatieff said not too long ago on Canada's official languages that Bilingualism "is the essence of being Canadian" and he stated he supports this Billingual sign law.

I have been in Canada my whole life, a few years longer then 'Iffy' and I am almost half his age, yet I only can speak and read english.

Does this make me less of a Canadian by The Professor's standards, because I lack this 'essence' and because I am for the freedom to post a privately owned sign in what ever language I choose?

A couple months back Iggy was in Russell and said he absolutely supports these sign laws.

FYI: Russell mayor Ken Hill recently announced he's running to be the federal Liberal candidate.

... Gerry: Good cause, good case.
... As the world embraces English as it's common tongue, these regressive, collectivist issues will fade away.

Ken Hill is a tyrant. He has assumed authority over the private affairs of private citizens. He is a borderline fascist in his implementation of social regimentation. He is abusing his position as mayor or Russell.

That he is running for the Liberals is no surprise since their "social justice" agenda fits perfectly with Mr.Hill's authoritarianism.
