After enduring a "Winter Wonderland" presentation at a public school last night, I found your making fun of the non-religious parts of the season -- and linking them to Dion -- to be humourous.
Great article, Gerry. But don't knock Dion too much as judging from his second visit to this region, he definitely knows where his political base lies (or ends).
... Dion is not the enemy. Let's not waste another word on him. ... Our goal should be to expose the Liberal's philosophy of nothingness, and to teach the virtue of the values of conservatism- pulling everyone to the Right.
Gerry Nicholls is a communications consultant and writer who has been called a “political warrior” a “brilliant strategist” and one of the “canniest political observers in Canada.”
He has worked as a consultant in both the United States and Canada and was formerly a senior officer in the National Citizens Coalition.
A regular columnist with the Ottawa Hill Times, his work has also appeared in the Globe and Mail, the National Post and in the Sun Media chain; and he has appeared on countless TV and radio public affairs programs. He is the author of the book, Loyal to the Core, Harper, Me and the NCC.
“Loyal to the Core is a daring and provocative work. It deserves to be read by conservative activists and politicos.” – Western Standard
“This is a very important book.” -- Michael Coren, TV host
“A fascinating read” --- Seamus O'Regan, Canada AM
“I really enjoyed Loyal to the Core. It’s a great book”, - Charles Adler, radio host.
"Loyal to the Core should be required reading for anyone considering or starting a career at a conservative think tank or in electoral politics in general …Consider Loyal to the Core a cautionary tale that’s also a funny, easy read – with a few highly “stealable” ideas for media campaigns thrown in for good measure.”- Kathy Shaidle, author Tyranny of Nice
“Every Canadian remotely interested in politics and the state of the country should have a read of Loyal to the Core. – blogger Wendy Sullivan
"It’s rare to find a politico, however, who is equally passionate about policy and strategy, but columnist, pundit, author and Western Standard blogger Gerry Nicholls is such a person." Matthew Johnson, owner Western Standard
"If you are a conservative who wonders how conservatives can communicate their message in a hostile media climate, Loyal to the Core is a must read." -- At Home in Hespeler
"You HAVE TO read this book!" -- Connie Fournier Free Dominion

Ah, don't you think this is rather petty and childish - you fancy yourself clever or something?
Yawn and sigh.
Seems you are running out of material.
He's not a Christmas character, but Dion reminds me a lot of this guy.
Actually that was very clever. Well done, and Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas.
I'd have picked the Grinch.
He's green (or would like us to believe).
He has a dog.
By reversing the GST cut he want's to take away money from Canadians at Christmas time.
I think I'm going to have to work on my photoshop skills over Christmas.
It's Christmas - do you not have it in you to say something positive, enlightening - of goodwill and peace to all men?
Do you look in the mirror and admire yourself because you wrote something silly and negative?
Ba humbug to you.
Dion seems to be an absolutely useless leader.
He keeps moving the Liberals to the left so that the "Conservative" party also seems to keep moving further left.
I would love to see the Liberals dump Dion, and bring in a leader who has something on the ball (McKenna, Ignatieff, etc.)
DEFINITELY NOT WHACKO RAE!
Then, at least, the "Conservatives" might, at least, need to start behaving like conservatives...
Seems you are running out of material.
Aw, you're just jealous that Dion didn't dhestruy dihs metheriehell in Dionglish frust.

You really are disturbingly puerile, Nicholls.
I agree, igf...
Dion is not the enemy... He is a non-factor that should be ignored. Harper may even be giving him credibility as a leader in attacking him...
Big spending and big secretive governments are the real evils so what is PM Harper and the CPC doing about that...
Absolutely nothing...
Less than nothing...
Making things worse than they were under previous Liberal governments actually...
Yet, people only seem to respond in these posts when an attack on Dion is made...
Sorry to be a downer, but is that the best that we can do?
