Hey, here's a real mystery.
This morning I heard a loud clang outside, but didn't think anything of it. We have a lot of house construction going on around here. Something is always crashing.
But a little later, when I went outside I saw this metre-long steel "pipe" near my garage.
Putting two and two together, I figure that pipe fell off an airplane and hit my garage!!
I mean what else can it be? Does anybody recognize this piece of metal?
It kind of looks like a strut for a wheel.
Maybe it's from a spaceship!

Wow, a lot of things falling from the sky this past couple of days! Glad it missed you.
... Looks like a standard issue landing strut from an interplanetary craft from the Delta Omega galaxy.
... They've come to abduct all the good-looking, sexy people.
... Don't worry Gerry... you'll be safe... farewell!
Just remember Gerry, when they come to get their spaceship part back, you must say, "Klaatu Barada Nikto, else we'll all die!
Maybe you should make Dave Williams a friend of yours on facebook REALLY QUICKLY!
It had to have fallen from a great height to leave dents in your driveway.
I'd be trying to find out.
Could be those left-leaning liberal squirrels trying to break in to your nut supply?
I know what this mystery object is, this is used for flatbed truck that carry load with strap thrown over the load to secure it to the truck. The driver use the bar with the small bent tip is and insert it into the small hole and pull the bar down to tighten the strap. It a small gear wheel that locked every time the driver tighten with the bar to secure the load. You need the long bar so the driver can force down with his weight.
I used to work at the company where we have lot of flatbed truck come in and secure the load on their truck.
Some guy said it was a missile that use to launch with air compressor, no that is incorrect.
Thanks Gogie that explanation makes sense.
I'm going with the homemade missle theory. It is definitely a barbell if you look at it. you can also see the heat marks on the end piece from the welding. Also it is bent probably from the impact.
